Who is this programme for?

The insurance industry relies on competent individuals who have technical knowledge and a strong skill set to deliver insurance products and services. The range of roles includes underwriters, brokers, claims specialists & loss adjusters.

This programme is aimed at individuals who are becoming involved with more complex insurance transactions and are required to have advanced skills and capabilities.

How does Davies deliver?

Our programme is built around a professional apprenticeship. The learning is wrapped around and incorporates daily work, this is supplemented by ‘off the job’ development, which is completed within paid working time. Access to all of our training content is via our digital platforms enabling 100% remote delivery.

What does the programme cover?

This programme will develop Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours and will provide people with the awareness and capabilities required to accelerate their career in insurance.

Knowledge

  • How the insurance market works, including products, competitors and emerging trends
  • Customer service principles, including KYC, TCF and supporting vulnerable customers
  • Key regulations (FCA, Insurance Act, Consumer Duty) and how compliance shapes decisions
  • Digital tools, data analysis, cyber security and new technologies shaping the industry
  • Equity, diversity & inclusion, sustainability and how organisations operate and change

Skills

  • Provide confident, customer‑focused decision making
  • Investigate and resolve complex insurance queries and cases
  • Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes
  • Use digital tools, analyse data and work within authority levels

The Insurance Professional apprenticeship gives learners a strong foundation in how the insurance industry works, from regulations and customer service to digital tools and emerging market trends. Apprentices develop practical skills such as problem‑solving, communication, stakeholder management and data‑driven decision making through real workplace experience. Throughout the programme, they build the professional behaviours, confidence and industry insight needed to progress and succeed in their insurance career.

CII Dip in Insurance

Duration: 12 Months or 24 Months
Levy Funding Band: £15,000 

Non- Levy Funding Band: £750

Entry Requirements
  • To have the right to work in the UK
  • To have lived in the UK/EEA continuously for the past three years
  • Beneficial to have grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • To have passed the Davies aptitude test
