Creating a digitally delivered apprenticeship programme for a multinational financial services firm

  • Increased apprenticeship programme volume from 0 to 400 per annum
  • Helped our client achieve 102% on monthly levy spend
  • The apprenticeship scheme we implemented is the largest of its kind in the UK

Background

A multinational financial services firm appointed Davies to utilise apprenticeship levy funds and create a learning programme for delivery across their UK business. The purpose was to develop home-grown talent and provide a much-needed pipeline of next-generation insurance professionals with a passion for the sector.

How we helped

With our track record and proven ability to work in partnership, Davies was tasked with creating a digitally delivered apprenticeship programme for existing staff, entry-level careers, and graduates at the multinational financial services firm.

Davies understood that to meet these goals, the programme needed to be robust, engaging, accessible and easy to use for colleagues. Modern learning needs to be clear, consumable in small pieces and available on the go, around the clock, and in a variety of formats. Davies utilised occupationally competent coaches who have come from the insurance sector, providing the apprentices with a valuable learning experience.

Results

The success of the apprenticeship programme has been outstanding. The volume of apprentices has grown from 0 to 400 per annum, with two-thirds of all learners now joining the insurance programmes from outside London. The apprentices are highly engaged, achieving a 100% pass rate for those reaching end point assessment, and inspiring and encouraging their colleagues.

Of the colleagues currently in learning, 49% are existing colleagues and 51% are early careers, providing the multinational financial services firm with standardised behaviours and a consistent client experience.
