Financial Planning Associate
Our client is a growing, ambitious wealth management and financial planning firm that is changing the way clients experience advice. Their teams are small enough for you to make a genuine impact, while the wider business has the scale, support, and structure to help you develop your long-term career.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone already working in Financial Planning who is looking for a role that offers meaningful client exposure, hands-on technical work, and a clear pathway towards becoming a Financial Planner.
The Opportunity
This role is centred around client relationship management, technical planning support, and adviser development. You will work closely with a senior Financial Planner who manages a substantial and fast-growing client base, giving you direct exposure to high-net-worth clients, complex planning requirements, and high-quality advice delivery.
Over an expected two to three-year development period, you will receive direct mentoring and coaching from an experienced adviser. You will build the practical skills required to progress into an advisory role, including client engagement, professional networking, lead generation, and the commercial aspects of building long-term client relationships.
The business offers a structured Junior Financial Planner pathway, providing a clear and achievable route into a future adviser position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day client relationships, ensuring client requests are handled promptly, professionally, and proactively.
- Prepare for, attend, and follow up on client meetings, ensuring all actions are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Review existing financial plans to ensure they remain suitable and aligned to client objectives.
- Prepare financial planning reports as part of the client onboarding process.
- Review suitability reports and provide technical input ahead of client meetings.
- Prepare detailed cashflow modelling and analysis.
- Liaise with administration and paraplanning teams to ensure client work progresses smoothly.
- Support with suitability report writing during busier periods when required.
- Attend networking events and begin developing your own professional profile.
- Use AI-driven systems, including Saturn, to support analysis, modelling, workflow efficiency, and day-to-day planning activity.
About You
You will already have experience within Financial Planning and be looking for a role that develops you beyond pure technical support. This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys client interaction, has strong planning knowledge, and is serious about progressing towards an adviser role.
You will ideally bring:
- Level 4 Financial Planning qualification through the CII.
- A strong understanding of financial planning processes and client service standards.
- Technical knowledge across pensions, tax, cashflow modelling, and financial planning research.
- Confidence engaging with clients and communicating complex information clearly.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience using CRM systems, ideally Xplan.
- Strong Excel skills.
- A proactive, commercial mindset and genuine interest in developing into a Financial Planner.
Why Apply?
This is an integral role offering exceptional exposure, mentoring, and long-term career development. You will work closely with a senior adviser, gain access to complex client scenarios, and be supported through a structured development pathway designed to prepare you for a successful transition into advice.
For someone looking to move from a technical or client support role into a future Financial Planner position, this offers a genuine and well-supported route.
Benefits
- Competitive pension scheme: 6% employer contribution and 3% employee contribution.
- 26 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
- Private medical insurance.
- Life assurance, 4x salary.
- Group income protection.
- Work From Anywhere policy.
